Natural light and timber accents aim to transform a Lewisham home into a modern family retreat
This project is a contemporary transformation of a traditional London home, reimagining its spatial layout and aesthetic character. The design introduces a series of staggered levels, which create dynamic visual connections and distinct zones within the open-plan space. Skylights are strategically placed to fill the interiors with natural light, highlighting the interplay of light and shadow throughout the day. The use of warm timber, clean white surfaces, and playful pastel accents creates a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.
The rear extension, with its minimalist form and large glazing, seamlessly connects the interior spaces to the garden. A built-in bench and carefully crafted joinery offer practical storage solutions while maintaining the sleek, uncluttered look of the space. The redesign of the staircase and entryway, featuring bold dark tones and intricate tile patterns, adds a dramatic contrast that elevates the overall aesthetic.
